Committee

Ronald Armstrong, Retired Architect (ARBnsw 4482) manages an on-going file that produces a regular newsletter about the Foundation along with maintaining the Foundation’s website. Ron also assists in catering for events, developing sponsorship and viewing the big picture. Ron is an original committee member.

Ramsey Awad, University representative. Ramsey is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Architecture and Built Environment at The University of Newcastle and was previously an Executive Director at Ernst & Young in their Government Advisory Practice. Ramsey is the link between the Foundation, the School of Architecture and the University of Newcastle.

John Carroll, Retired Architect and founding member. Actively promotes major fund raising activities and gets the promises turned into currency. John undertakes the background legwork to ensure continued connection with practising architects and architectural practices in the region. John is an original committee member.

Ross Cox, Retired Architect. Joined the Foundation in 2008 and co-ordinates communication, the annual dinner event, fund raising, guests and attendees.

.Andrew Donaldson, the 2001 Eric Parker Travelling Scholar. The inaugural scholar has graduated, worked in practice and now brings youthful creativity to the committee. Andrew provides the inter-city link and the committee benefits from his broad connection to and partnership in the Sydney architectural profession.

Robert Donaldson, Architect (ARBnsw 2824), F.R.A.I.A. (19291). Trustee of the Foundation. Registered as the Responsible Person of the Foundation. Retired Architect and formerly Head of the School of Architecture, University of Newcastle. As Hon. Treasurer, maintains all financial records, pays accounts, banks donations and ensures that the books balance. Endeavours to keep meetings short and background work long. An original committee member.

John Hoffmann, Retired Architect, Foundation Chair of the Eric Parker Travelling Scholarship and official Founder of The Architecture Foundation fund. John maintains the archives and records of the Foundation. John is an original committee member.

Matthew Hull is a Trustee of the Foundation, a practising Architect (ARBnsw 8251) and graduate in Architecture from Newcastle. Matt joined the committee in 2009 and brings a youthful view to ensure that the committee is both broad and substantial in its endeavours.

.Andrew Killen, Practising architect (ARBnsw 4269) and graduate in Architecture from Newcastle. Andrew joined the committee in 2009 and, as deputy chair of the committee, brings his extensive experience as a practising architect and foundation director of Killen and Doran, Architects. Andrew has been a member of the architecture profession for more than 25 years.

Charles Martin, Consultant. Artist extraordinary. Produces promotional material for the Foundation and superb artwork for fund raising activities. Charles is an original committee member.

.Matt Sainsbury, Retired Architect, ARBnsw (4235).Matt joined the committee in 2012 after a long career in Newcastle as a principal partner of Suters Architects since 1982, based in the Newcastle office. He is experienced in all facets of large project management, with a particular interest in retail design.

 .Carol Seymour, Practising Architect. (ARBnsw 6732) Looks after the well-being of the scholars, past, present and future and ensures they are safe, secure and return to Newcastle to study another day. Carol also attends to the attraction and development of Foundation sponsorship.

.Jean Williams, Hon. Secretary to the Foundation. Formerly Secretary to the Dean of Architecture, University of Newcastle. Produces compact and accurate records of Foundation business and brings balance, compliance and enthusiasm to meetings.
